I had the honor of sitting down with my dear friend Minaa B. for a powerful conversation about how we can show up for ourselves during the holidays.
It’s okay to say no. You don’t have to attend every event or stay longer than your energy allows. Honor your capacity and trust that it’s enough.
Who are the people in your life that truly nourish you? These are your anchors—lean into them. And if your current circle doesn’t feel supportive, consider expanding it. Minaa spoke so beautifully about creating intentional community, and it’s never too late to begin.
Even in the busiest moments, give yourself permission to pause. A deep breath, a quiet walk, or even stepping outside for fresh air can do wonders for your nervous system.
Maybe the holidays bring both joy and grief. Maybe you love your family and struggle with certain dynamics. It’s okay for opposing feelings to coexist. Hold space for all of it—it’s what makes you human.
This year is about you.
What do you need? What do you want? What would actually bring you joy this holiday season?
These questions are not selfish—they are essential. Because when you take care of yourself, you create the space to show up fully and authentically for others.
Thank you for being part of this community. Your willingness to show up, reflect, and grow inspires me every single day.
With so much love,
Vanessa
