Winter Survival Guide: The Products I Can’t Live Without

Every winter seems to bring the same cocktail of exhaustion: everyone gets sick, the holidays sneak up with their overwhelming lists and expectations, and life suddenly asks us to be everywhere, for everyone, all at once. And if you’re anything like me, you keep pushing through, telling yourself, “I’m fine.”

For years, that was my whole strategy. You’d think by 48 I’d know better, but apparently I needed one more winter of feeling depleted before I finally said: enough.

So this season, I’ve been quietly doing a deep audit of what actually makes me feel good. Not the performative wellness, not the aspirational stuff. The things that help me stay grounded, hydrated, warm, and calm (most days).

I found a handful of tiny rituals and products that are genuinely helping me survive this winter with more ease.

Because I know this season stretches all of us thin (sickness, stress, overwhelm), I wanted to share what’s been helping me. If it saves you even ten minutes of Googling or gives you one moment of comfort, it’s worth taking the time to put this together. Think of this as a small winter care package from me to you.

Below is the full list of what I’m actually using right now and why I love each one:

My Winter Survival Guide

Ora Cacao

This is my afternoon ritual. It replaces my 3pm coffee crash and gives me a warm, grounded moment during the day. It feels indulgent and medicinal at the same time. Also, Ora is one of the only brands I could find that tests for mold and has published results showing their cacao is negative for mold toxins.

Gua Sha Comb

Massaging my scalp has become one of my favorite tools to regulate my nervous system. It releases tension I didn’t even realize I was holding.

Pique Electrolytes

My daily non-negotiable. I truly feel different (clearer, steadier, less cranky) when I’m hydrated. These taste clean and actually work.

Ancient Minerals Magnesium Bath Flakes

My winter sanity ritual. I dump a generous amount in the tub, sit for 20 minutes, and everything in my body softens. If you’re stressed or not sleeping well, start here.

Body Cupping Kit

This turns any location (in your home or when traveling) into a DIY wellness studio. A few minutes of cupping on my shoulders and back and I feel like I’ve had a deep-tissue massage.

DeMamiel Altitude Oil

A tiny bottle with a huge impact. I keep it in my bag and use it when I’m overwhelmed, overstimulated, or just need a moment of calm. It shifts my whole mood.

Deiji Studios PJ Set

My favorite winter pajamas. This linen is soft, breathable, and somehow both cozy and chic. I reach for them every night.

Dr. Hauschka Lip Balm

The specific balm is the only thing that keeps my lips from cracking in the harsh winter wind. I keep one by my bed and one in every coat pocket.

Peekay’s Calm Down

A natural calming support I use when my nervous system feels like it’s at capacity. It helps me settle without knocking me out.

I hope something in here helps you feel a little more nourished, a little more held, and a little more human this winter!

All my love,
Vanessa
